Your financial data lives encrypted on your phone today. We don't store app accounts on our servers yet. When that changes, we'll say so clearly — here and in our Privacy Policy.
Encrypted on your device
Budgets, expenses, savings goals, and the rest of your app data are stored with encryption on your phone. Login details use secure on-device storage. We don't currently keep a copy of that financial picture on our servers.
What stays local vs. what touches a server
- On your device today: app login, budgets, expenses, vacations, savings goals, split details, and optional settle-up payment handles you choose to save.
- On this website: waitlist emails you submit, plus anonymized page and performance data used to keep the site working — never your app finances.
- If the app crashes: we may receive a technical report with personal details stripped out, so we can fix bugs without seeing your finances.
- Not live yet: online backup and storing app accounts on our servers. Nothing is stored there today; we'll update this page and the Privacy Policy before that changes.
Settle-up without handing us your money apps
When you settle up with Venmo or Cash App, Spend Sense opens that app on your phone with details you choose. We don't connect your Spend Sense account to those services or send them data on our own.
If something goes wrong
No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a security incident that affects personal information we process, we'll take appropriate steps under applicable law — which may include notifying you and regulators where required.
